Senior/Lead Field Service Apparatus Technician

If you have 3+ years of testing, maintenance and repair of low and medium voltage breakers, transformers, switchgears, and other electrical apparatus, we want to hear from you! • Provide technical capabilities for low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, motor control equipment, and related switchgear in the field. Relay testing experience is a huge plus but not required.
• Substation apparatus testing experience is preferred: SF6 breakers, vacuum breakers, CT`s, CCVT`s, transformers, MOS`s and ground testing.
• Work territory: state of FL with occasional short term out of state travel supporting other Qualus locations.
• Perform and lead a crew in the field for testing/maintenance/repair of breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control and associated equipment during large scale outages for power plants and industrial customers.
• Ensures proper completion of test reports. Experience with Power DB is a plus.
• Identifies and secures test equipment needs for shop/field.
• Provides daily/weekly reports to client and Field Service Supervisor.
• Attend and contribute to project kickoff meetings.
• Support budget adherence on projects
• Continuously instructs and trains others.
• Support the sales effort by assisting with labor estimates and job walks when necessary.
• Remain current on all safety and technical training.

• 3-5 years’ related experience in power plants, industrial services, primary power distribution and related fields.
• Minimum 3+ years of industrial or commercial power systems testing experience.
• Licensures and Certifications: NETA 3 or 4 preferred.
• Education: High School Diploma
• Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications.
• Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors.
• Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, management ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and familiar with factory software’s to operate M4100, MRCT, Doble 6150, SFRA, TDR900 and other test equipment.
• Experience with Power DB is preferred but not required.
• Valid Driver’s license and good driving record.
