Power your future with Qualus as a Panel Shop Wireman Intern. Our intern’s partner with our field service team in learning how to complete wiring plans, wiring lays outs, modifications, repairs, tests, and installations.

 

They will learn to use equipment and apparatus for power, light, communications, and control systems for electrical substation control panels. Interns will learn how to build the panel per engineered drawings and the assembly/installation of bus and breakers in AC/DC cabinets.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting in inspection, wiring, and continuity check of relay and control panels for the electric utility industry.
  • Reading and interpreting specifications, layouts, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Performing inspections on electrical frames and panels.
  • Performing point-to-point continuity checks per wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Performing verification of DC schematics including power and control circuits.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • full-time student in an accredited program pursuing an AS in Engineering Technology, BS in Electrical Engineering, or similar.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Proficient with hand tools.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and other measuring devices.
  • Must have troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have an understanding of DC power and control circuits.
  • Must have an understanding of the basic functions of a multimeter.
