Senior Substation Test Technician

Work locations: Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington, Utah and Idaho. 

Travel: 25-50%

• Performing testing on low, medium, and high voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Power Factor, Hi-Current, and Timing tests.
• Wiring substation equipment.
• Testing substation grounds grids.
• Utilizing and accurately reading meters.
• Reading schematics and wiring drawings.
• Troubleshooting circuit breaker, transformers, and load tap changer controls.
• Reading and plotting time-current curves.
• Testing power transformers to include all NETA required tests.
• Testing current and potential transformers. 
• Accurately documenting using Power DB software.
• Able to work with electrical tools.

• 5 years’ related experience in substations, power plants, primary power distribution and related protection and control schemes.
• Minimum 2 years of substation power systems experience.
• Licensures and Certifications: NETA 2, 3, or 4 preferred.
• Education: High School Diploma. 
• Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications.
• Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors.
• Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, management ability
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
