Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus as a Senior Distribution Design Engineer. Our Senior Distribution Engineers partner with teams and clients across the U.S. to perform quality design, calculations, permitting, and technical services, and provide technical leadership and guidance to all distribution group members. By utilizing advanced modeling software such as Pole Foreman, WMS, DM, and/or AutoCAD, our Engineers engage in dynamic collaboration and develop innovative solutions to field-identified hazards while ensuring the highest safety standards.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with internal teams and external clients to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Develop and implement distribution engineering designs for various projects, ensuring efficient and effective distribution systems.
  • Ensuring all designs comply with client and regulatory standards, maintaining a high-level of quality and safety.
  • Work collaboratively with other distribution engineers/designers to share knowledge, resources, and best practices.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to junior engineers/designers, fostering professional growth and development within the team (applicable to Senior level positions).
  • Maintain regular communication with the manager to discuss project process, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Some roles may require occasional site visits depending on the applicant's location to the job site.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in related Engineering field or formal post-high school specialized trade from an ABET-accredited school.
  • 8+ years of distribution design engineering experience.
  • Experience in various distribution design software (i.e. Pole Foreman, AutoCAD, Design Manager, WMS, DDS, SAP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution system design engineering standards, practices, and regulatory requirements; Knowledge of NESC and other applicable codes and standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with in-house teams and external clients.
