Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus as our Field Services Wireman supporting our protection and control field services team. The Field Services Wireman displays the ability to follow specific instructions of the Lead Wireman and Relay personnel to the assigned project. The essential function of the position is to perform wire pulling, wire termination, and control panel construction within substations and electrical facilities. This position will report directly to a Supervisor, Field Services. Apply now and join the Qualus team!

Responsibilities

  • Display the aptitudes to read prints, use standard hand and power tools, follow specific work instructions while adhering to all Safety and Human Performance fundamentals.
  • Ability to inspect, test, repair, and maintain electrical equipment in generating stations, substations, and in-service relays.
  • Wires from point-to-point or schematics
  • Install process piping and instrumentation.
  • Installs components per layout drawings.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions from the heat of summer to the cold of winter.
  • Must have suitable transportation and be willing to travel as required.

HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS

  • Comprehensive knowledge of electricity as it pertains to substation construction and maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of material used in substation construction and maintenance standard practice.
