Position Overview

As a Project Controller, you will have the opportunity to support Operations Leaders and Team Leaders in monitoring and controlling project scope, schedules, and budgets. The role includes service as a subject matter expert on ERP systems, managing project resource planning and scheduling, assist with contract management, and overseeing customer billing and invoicing. Key responsibilities include procurement coordination, tracking deliverables, supporting AR/AP processes, and leading production meetings. Responsibilities

  • Supports Project Managers, Operations Leaders, and others Team Leaders with monitoring and controls of project scope, schedule, and budget plans.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for the ERP system and processes and procedures relative to Operations.
  • Performs and/or supports project resource planning and scheduling as needed.
  • Supports and assists in the contract management process.
  • Enters Orders/Jobs into production system updating as advised relative to status, dates, shipping, and other pertinent information.
  • Coordinates customer billing; prepares invoices and processes in timely fashion.
  • Ensures that time and expense charges to projects are accurate and conform to Qualus standards & policy and client contracts.
  • Ensures accurate creation of new project set up in ERP System
  • Ensures thorough and accurate project closeout.
  • Assists in the change order process and submittal and communicates status.
  • Process customer POs as directed ensuring alignment of scope expectations.
  • Coordinates material procurement and generates purchase orders. Confirms material orders and pricing meets with purchase requisitions.
  • Provides support in tracking project deliverables using appropriate tools (may include working with and coordinating subcontractors)
  • Monitor and report project status to Project Managers, Directors, Account Managers and other stakeholders as required.
  • Provides AR & AP support and monthly invoicing review.
  • Controls production log for the location and leads production meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent degree; minimum of 2 years of experience OR
    • Associates degree; minimum of 4 years of experience OR
    • High school diploma; minimum of 6 years of experience
  • Minimum experience to include:
    • Project coordination,
    • Budget/accounting coordination,
    • Financial management, tracking & analysis,
    • Analysis and application of operational reports
  • Experience in project management and/or operations management, or related industry experience.
  • Experience working in Project Management applications and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (Microsoft Project, Primavera, Deltek)
  • Proficient with MS Office tools (Work, Excel, Outlook) and ability to manage and analyze large quantities of data.
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
  • Experience with subcontractor management and/or procurement, technical projects and/or field construction operations.
  • Experience with conflict management, risk management and change management.
