Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus in our Engineering department as a Civil Engineer. Our Civil Engineers partner with engineering teams to design civil infrastructure (site development, structures, foundations, grading, drainage, etc) for new and existing substations, renewable energy developers and other clients.

 

You will design and detail mat and pier type foundations for substation structures. Additionally, you'll design substation structures ranging from simple equipment supports to overhead line towers.  Read on to learn more and apply today!

Responsibilities

  • Develop overall conceptual design plans in the initial development phase of new projects.
  • Work with renewable energy developers and other clients with support specific to schedules and cost estimates.
  • Design foundations using commercially available software such as LPILE.
  • Develop steel structure models for rigid bus and equipment supports.
  • Maintain professional relationships with our external business partners; Present information and respond to questions from individual or groups of clients.
  • Participate in client meetings/job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Experience in AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation is a plus
  • Great analytical mindset, loves problem solving
  • Great Computer skills (MS Office).
  • Great communications and interpersonal skills. Must be able to effectively communicate across various internal organizational groups and with outside clients
  • Strong commitment to customer service and care.
  • Highly motivated "self‐starter", not afraid to ask questions and take initiative.
  • Proven multitasking and organizational skills, ability to manage time and shifting priorities.
